What God is doing at Linn-Mar FCA

Dear Eastern Iowa FCA Family,

As this school year begins to wind down, we wanted to share a glimpse of how God is moving through FCA at Linn-Mar High School.

Ava Winn, a senior and FCA student leader, recently took time to reflect on her journey. What she shared is a powerful reminder of the impact of this ministry.

During Ava’s sophomore year, Linn-Mar’s FCA huddle regularly welcomed around 15 to 20 students. By the start of her junior year, that number had grown to nearly 50 students at the first gathering. Now, in her senior year, the group continues to see 35 to 40 students show up each week.

But the story goes far beyond numbers.

Ava shared about a recent conversation with a student who said FCA has helped her grow in her relationship with Jesus by giving her a place to truly get to know Him. Moments like this are why FCA exists and why this ministry matters.

God has also been at work within the leadership team. Last summer, students began meeting weekly for a leadership Bible study. What started as a simple idea became a foundation for deeper relationships, stronger unity, and more intentional leadership.

That investment carried into the school year in a powerful way.

This fall, Linn-Mar hosted its first Fields of Faith event in years, bringing together around 200 students, coaches, and volunteers. The strength and connection of the leadership team played a key role in making that night impactful.

Another highlight has been discipleship.

Ava has spent this year walking alongside a freshman leader, encouraging her, investing in her faith, and helping her step into leadership. As four senior leaders prepare to graduate, students are already stepping up, being equipped, and continuing the mission.

This is how FCA multiplies impact through relationships, discipleship, and students leading students.

They prayed for a larger group and to reach more peers, and God provided.

We are so grateful for how God is moving at Linn-Mar, and we are expectant for what He will continue to do in the years ahead.
