Discipleship that goes beyond the campus

Dear Eastern Iowa FCA Family,

Leading every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church is the mission of FCA.

Here in Eastern Iowa, that mission is lived out every day. Each campus and every interaction is an opportunity to plant seeds of faith. Through our E3 discipleship strategy to engage, equip, and empower, we trust God to do more than we can see.

And sometimes, we get a glimpse of just how far those seeds can go.

A few years ago, there was a student leader at Solon High School who was faithfully growing in her walk with Christ and leading within her FCA huddle. Recently, we had the chance to reconnect and hear how God has continued to work in her life since graduating and heading to college.

She is now preparing to go on a mission trip overseas to share the good news of Jesus.

As she has stepped into training for this opportunity, she began to notice something familiar. Many of the tools and principles being taught reflected what she first learned through FCA’s E3 discipleship model.

She shared how she is still using those same rhythms today.

Building relationships.

Sharing the Gospel.

Leading others in studying God’s Word.

Staying rooted in prayer.

With a smile, she talked about how excited she is to carry those tools into a new place, trusting God to use them for His glory and to build others up in their faith.

This is the beauty of discipleship.

What begins in a high school huddle does not stay there.

God multiplies it in ways we may never fully see.

We are reminded that every conversation, every relationship, and every step of obedience matters. God is faithful to carry His mission forward.
