Discover How Faith is Changing Jefferson!

Dear Eastern Iowa FCA Family,

In 2025, a brand-new FCA Huddle began at Jefferson High School. It started with the football team. From the very beginning, more than half of the varsity roster attended. The Gospel was shared, and discipleship began to take root.

Throughout the football season, players had the opportunity to attend Huddle right before the team meal on the day prior to games. It was incredible to see so many athletes choose to be part of it — leaning in, growing together, and hearing the truth of God’s Word during a busy and competitive season.

This Huddle was the result of much prayer and the building of meaningful connections between school leadership, FCA staff, and dedicated volunteers. The road to get here was not short, but God faithfully provided a way.

One of the key pieces of this story is our Huddle Leader, Nick Williams. Nick has been involved in ministry for most of his life, yet he shared, “I never thought in a million years we could have a ministry like this at Jefferson.” Nick recently stepped into full-time ministry as an Associate Pastor at Anchor Bible Church in Center Point.

After one Huddle where multiple athletes chose to rededicate their lives to Christ, Nick said, “This is my favorite ministry I’ve ever been a part of.” That statement wasn’t because other ministries didn’t matter. It was because of the deep connection he has to this school and to what God is doing there. Nick attended Jefferson and played football himself. To now help make disciples and share the Gospel inside a school that means so much to him is something he does not take lightly.

What began as a football Huddle has now grown into a multi-sport Huddle. We are continuing to reach more athletes and coaches across different programs with the Gospel. Nick remains faithfully in his role as Huddle Leader, and it is clear that God has placed him right where he belongs.
